What are the new travel requirements?
Starting in 2023, all U.S. citizens traveling to Europe will be required to obtain travel authorization to visit any country within the European Union. Travelers will have to complete the European Travel Information Authority System (ETIAS) registration process and receive approval prior to entering EU countries.
This is a significant change to Americans' ability to travel to Europe. Currently, all U.S. citizens are allowed to enter any EU country without a visa for stays of up to 90 days. While the U.S. will still be a visa-waiver country, the new ETIAS requirement adds a layer of planning to any trip to a European Union member nation.
